Create Page Template for FreeCAD | Tech Draw Workbench
This tutorial explains how to create a custom Tech Draw workbench Page template with a title. This template can be used to create sheets in FreeCAD in your projects.
The tutorial covers the creation of the whole page template from scratch. Inkscape free open source vector editing software is used for this task. The covered topics include setting up the page size and orientation, creating lines, placing them correctly and setting their thickness. Creation of text objects is also demonstrated including font, size and alignment settings. The tutorial explains troubleshooting the text alignment problem by deleting the xml space=preserve attribute. Placing of a raster image on the template is also demonstrated.
Important part of the tutorial is demonstration of creation of editable text fields. These fields can be easily edited in FreeCAD, so the text can be change depending on the sheet content.
