Make a Knife from a File (file knife making without a forge!)
In this week's video I take a metal file and make a kitchen knife out of a file - it turns out to be a pretty easy and very useful addition to my wife's food preparation toolkit! My tools of choice for this build? Lol. I don't have any heat treating equipment, so my only option was to make a knife without a forge - meaning I had to use a pre-hardened piece of steel. Enter, the old metal file! My wife wasn't too happy about me using the kitchen oven to temper the knife but all's well that ends well because she's decided that she likes her new tomato chopper! I think I've found my favorite hobby for this week - file knife making !
