Hello friends,

Today, I am having a play with some simple textured paper. I wanted to see how fully cured a dried texture paste would behave if coffee dyed and then colorized. It worked beautifully. I started with a lightly tea stained digital. I then used stencils and my Liquitex Flexible Modeling Paste. Since I was away from the studio nearly two weeks, it had ample time to dry. I think allowing the texture paste to dry naturally for a minimum of 48 hours would be good for this technique.

Once dried, I painted on coffee and then colorized the paper with various sprays. I used Distress Oxide Sprays & Distress Spray Stain. I am not a huge fan of Oxides but I did give it a try.

The results. The textured paste held up to the coffee and all of the saturations of ink and water. I love how they turned out!

I hope you enjoy!
