You know you have the stripped plastic transfer case gear if you've experienced any number of these signs:
You hear a clicking noise after you take the key out of the ignition
You sometimes see the 4x4 light, SRS light, and brake light on after driving the car a while
You experience reduced RPMs and you hear light tire skipping or squealing (this only happened once, the first time the problem presented itself)
Feels like the center differential isn't doing what it's supposed to
