On the night of 12th August 2021, we took a long exposure timelapse over the duration of 6 hours.
An individual meteor shower streak happens in a timeframe of a second. If you are not looking, you miss it! Being so short-lived, each streak shows up in only one frame of a long exposure timelapse. When the photos are played at a standard 25 or 30 fps (frames per second), the streak can be missed by the human eye! At the end of the timelapse video is the composite stacked image showing all the meteors.

Meteor shower colors depend on what the meteor is made up of and the speed at which the meteor enters the Earth’s atmosphere. The faster a meteor moves, the more intense the color may appear, according to the American Meteorological Society (AMS).
