Formula 1 (F1TV) lacks subtitles / closed captioning
A video for demonstration purposes only, to highlight the inability to view subtitles / CC even when the option is selected.
On Safari, the option is only called "unknown" as a language, and does not work.
On Firefox, the option does not exist at all and the only option you get, are resolutions (480p, 720p, 1080p...) so there is no subtitle / CC support present.
On iPadOS with the F1TV app, the option is labeled as "CC" but does not work or display any visible captions regardless.
Closed Captioning is present on all live programming during F1 weekend races, with the exception of the post-race cooldown rooms, and driver interviews post-race.
In 2023, I observed that the pre and post-race (analysis) shows were not captioned at all.
This has since changed in the current (2024) season and has improved - with exception of what I stated above.
