Almaty used to be the capital of Kazakhstan. Not anymore. The city was named Alma-Ata back then meaning 'apple-father'. But it's still the largest city and the most beautiful one. Almaty is surrounded by some amazing places. From apple orchards to canyons, and mountain lakes!
