The question of suffering is one of the great challenges to belief in a benevolent God. But if the world is aimless and meaningless, doesn't atheism then face the opposite problem to the problem of suffering: the question of goodness—why does good exist in a meaningless and aimless world? And how does this relate to the "Evil God Challenge"? Matthias Narr, aka BiasedSkeptic, and Dr. Christian Hofreiter addressed these questions in the Q&A session of the discussion "Atheism or God—What to Do with All the Suffering?", which took place during the "Let's Talk About It" days in Vienna. Christian is an honorary Senior Fellow at the Pontes Institute for Science, Culture, and Faith. Born in Tyrol, he initially studied translation and interpreting at the University of Innsbruck, where he subsequently taught as a lecturer. He then worked for a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C., before studying theology at Oxford, where he earned his doctorate with a dissertation on genocide in the Old Testament. His relevant research was published in 2018 by Oxford University Press as *Making Sense of Old Testament Genocide*. Since 2013, he has lectured on the possibility of an intellectually robust and personally fulfilling faith at universities and in numerous other forums in German-speaking countries and beyond. He lives with his family in Vienna, where he leads the City Church, a newly established Anglican congregation.
