In this video, I'll walk you through updating your PlayStation 5 console to the latest firmware. I'll show you two methods. The first method uses the standard PS5 menu. You can update to any firmware version higher than the one currently installed. The second method uses the PS5's safe mode, also known as recovery menu or save mode. It's used when, for some reason, you can't update through the console menu. This process is done offline, without internet connection, using a flash drive. I'll also show you how to update your PS5 with a broken Blu-ray drive. In my case, I'll be updating my PS5 Slim 2000A from firmware 8.20.00 to 8.20.02. You can also update from 3.00 to 4.03 or 4.50 / 4.51.
