“We are going to be bringing a number of high paying high tech jobs. So its really a wide set of skill sets and education. It's really kind of a cool opportunity for this community With the new expansion, Google is planning on hiring up to 200 full time workers with varying in skill sets.
Henderson real estate agent Steve Hawks has witnessed Henderson's growth first hand.
“The people came first now the huge tech companies are coming,” said Hawks.
They plan on hiring hundreds of construction workers to build the new plant. There's several opportunities for high paying jobs as well for engineers, technicians, and electricians.
"With an average salary of about $65,000 a year- which is almost double what the average salary is in Southern Nevada," California taxes have paved the way for tech companies to call Nevada home.
“We can thank the California taxes. It's just too hard to do business in California right now,” said Hawks.
Housing near Stephanie and the 215 has seen a spike over last few months, according to Hawks.
“Apartment complexes that were six or seven hundred are now going for $1500. Some of the newer ones are going for $1900 or $2100 a month which was unheard of, unthinkable five, ten years ago,” said Hawks.
A data center is what's considered one of the main components of the internet.
Data centers help power any search created online and help store pictures, documents, and emails.
“It gives us credibility. Vegas is no longer a gaming town,” said Hawks.
