A Beary Special Teddy Bear and Doll Check-Up Clinic
It's time for a check-up! Bring your favorite teddy bear, stuffie, or doll to Gateway Hancock Health. Learn how to care for these very important cuddly members of your family and how to keep them in beary good health all year long.

Kids of all ages are invited to this special event. Gateway Hancock Health will help children care for their stuffies, all while helping them get familiar with medical equipment and instruments.
Just like at the real doctor's office or hospital, children will:
Check-in their special friend and give the reason for their visit—they'll get a "chart" with provider recommendations.
Once checked in, they'll wait in the beautiful Gateway waiting room with activities.
When it's their turn to be seen, the stuffed animal will be called back and get their height, weight, and temperature—kids get to assist with this.
Then the animal will be taken by a nurse/cma to get a set of vitals, get vaccinations if necessary, and learn about any new symptoms —all of this is to be explained step by step by a nurse.
Once done with the nurse—the teddy bear or doll patient moves on to the provider and gets a full workup---some even get casts and bandages!
Next, the teddy bears and dolls will have blood draws and breathing treatments if they agree to this.
Each family will receive a swag bag with some fun goodies to help continuing care at home.
We'll have some fun giveaways throughout the morning.
This is an open house style event, so come by anytime between 9 am and 11 am, RSVPs are requested.
