Some walkie talkies have VOX voice activated transmit feature and claiming you can use them as baby monitors but the transmitting radio i.e. the one in your baby's bedroom is not silent. Motorola's radios are specifically designed to meet the requirement as a baby or room monitor with 5 levels of sensitivity. Great feature and excellent PMR446 radios.
