A Relay attack is a technique that only works with keyless cars. Keyless cars are all those cars that have the hand free access entry, this technology allows you to enter the vehicle and get it started without pulling the key from your pocket. In order to do this all keyless cars are equipped with sensor that if the key is within a certain range it allows the user to access into the vehicle and to get it started. A relay attack, through two devices, simply shortens the distance from the key and the vehicle in a similar way a range extender works, making the car think that the key is nearby. When the car starts for road safety it does not turn off but this allows it to be driven as long as there is gasoline or electricity in the batteries.
