So many sports parents are completely unaware of the damage they are doing to their kids' psyche from their actions and communication around sports and academics.
Parents want their kids to be happy, overall, and think that the only way to do that is to push them hard to be a "success" at all costs. Unfortunately, "all costs" is often too high of a price to pay.
Is it worth it for your kid to grow up "successful" as you define it and yet, carry with them scars from their childhood that prevent them from having healthy relationships as an adult....just as one example of the destruction parents inflict on their kids lives forever from their lack of knowledge.
I sincerely hope this video does something to bridge the gap between parents and their kids and it applies to mothers and daughters just the same even though I used Father to son....and that's only because I have 2 boys myself.
