We can not get enough of the swamp adventure of gator hunters based in Louisiana, the proof is Swamp People brand new “season 14” premiered on History Channel on January 5.
While there are many reasons to rejoice, some may feel disheartened due to the exit of cast members we are so used to watching. So who has left the show?
Troy Landry, the flag bearer of the show, had a recent health scare.
As an Alligator hunter with many decades of experience, we can expect Troy to handle pretty much anything thrown at him during the hunting expeditions.
However, he had no control over the disease, Troy was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

On June 1, 2022, Troy shared the good news, he had successful surgery for cancer and was in recovery.
In the message, he also had set the resolution of recovering before the gator hunting season.
Moving past the health scare in 2022, the 62-year-old gator hunter is back on his hunting adventure as of 2023.
R.J. Molinere and J Paul Molinere:
The father-son duo R.J. and Jay Paul are natives of Louisiana and descendents of Houma Indian tribes.
The pair are known to be experts in hunting and trapping alligators while also being dedicated to preserving their traditions of culture.
R.J. and his son are not returning for the new seasons of Swamp People after leaving in 2019.
Willie Edwards
Coming from a long lineage of Alligator hunters, Willie Edwards appeared on Swamp People from 2010 until his departure in 2014.
In 2018 he was asked to return by showrunners and has been a regular cast member. Willie returns as the gator hunter in Season 14.
Junior Edwards:
Junior is Wilie’s father who left the show in 2021.
Junior appeared in 101 episodes from 2010-2021.
Following his exit from the show, Junior Edwards has not updated his Facebook page which goes by Junior and Willie Edwards.
We can confirm that Junior Edward has retired from Alligator hunting and currently focuses on hoop net fishing.

Junior’s other son Randy Edward was also an Alligator hunter and appeared in the show unfortunately he passed away due to a car crash on September 15, 2018.
One of the notable absences from the show is Liz Cavalier.
Liz made 95 episode appearances from 2011-2021. There is no official explanation for her departure from swamp people.
Glenn & Mitchell Guist.
Glenn appeared in the show starting in 2011.
His brother Mitchell Guist followed in the profession and would join him during the hunt. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the pair, Mitchell suffered from a heart attack while loading off items
from his boat and was quickly rushed to the Morgan City Hospital where he was pronounced dead in 2012.
After losing his brother Glenn set on swamp adventures of his own and appeared in 73 episodes until 2018.
Glenn is also not returning for the new seasons.
More Alligators hunters based in Louisiana have left the show and won’t be returning for season 14 set to premiere on Jan 5, 2023.
Ron Methvin
Ron made 75 episode appearances from 2012 until his departure in 2018. (not returning)
Joe Lafont
Joe made 54 episodes from 2010-2016. He is also not returning.
Tommy Chauvin
Tommy made 54 episodes from 2010-2016.
Jeromy Pruitt
Jeromy is a nuisance Alligator trapper.
He made 51 episode appearances from 2013-2016.
Since leaving the show he continues to work at his father's HVAC company and also involves himself in gator trapping helping to get them out of pools, backyards, ponds, rivers, carports, kitchens, etc.
Terral Evans made 48 episode appearances from 2011-2020.
David La Dart 31 episodes from 2013-2014.
