To make subwoofers sound their best, they should be powered by an amp whose RMS output rating comes close to or even slightly exceeds the total of all pwramp top RMS ratings 2000 watt. If you want to run 18 inch to loudspeakers whose RMS ratings are 800 watts each, you'll need about 2000 watts RMS of power to run
Underpowered loudspeakers won't sound good or play very loud. Then, if you were to turn up the input to compensate, the amp could end up sending out clipped or distorted signals that could damage the loudspeakers.It's okay to overpower your loudspeakers a little bit, as long as the signal's distortion-free, because they're made to withstand occasional peaks well beyond their normal RMS rating.
What's right for you?
The speakers and amp you need depends on what you want to hear. If you plan on listening to music at moderate volume levels or have a smaller JD, speakers with a lower power handling rating, say 800 to 2000 watts, and a matching amp is a good combo.

It is useful to expand Class AB amplifier technology with “Class H switching”, especially high output power amplifiers. This idea seems to be very simple at first sight. The AB amplifier is provided with an additional power supply unit operating with half the voltage. As long as the power amplifier does not require a high output level – which is the case for most applications, especially fixed installations – it is supplied by the lower operating voltage, thereby significantly reducing power loss. Signal peaks are detected immediately and the 2000 Watt Class H power dynamically takes over the provision of high voltage by means of a superfast field-effect transistor (FET), see diagram 1.
