This video builds off of all of my other videos on expressing numbers in binary, combining those concepts to store a number in scientific notation using binary, as used in floating point numbers. The example in the video is a simplified 8-bit version designed to be easy to follow in a short format explanation on a phone. Students are encouraged to check out resources on standard formats, like IEEE 754 to see how these concepts are implemented in practice (link below).
