Modern Scoring Brass Euphoniums: A Closer Look (audiobro)
In this video we'll take a closer look at the Euphoniums in Modern Scoring Brass. Euphoniums are not often part of orchestral brass libraries, and we think that's a shame because they are wonderfully nimble and sonorous brass instruments. They are capable of beautifully nuanced and expressive melody lines, but also offer a surprising amount of power that can fill in low brass ensembles.
Modern Scoring Brass contains 2 euphoniums which were recorded one at a time using separate musicians. With the addition of 2 auxiliary instruments (derived from the same sample pool) there are a total of 4 individual euphoniums which are playable individually or together as a section.
In this video you'll hear many isolated examples of euphoniums playing various articulations in large and small divisi configurations.
