A scam is when someone deceives you to steal your money or personal information. They can do this through a phone call, email, text message or through social media messaging. We speak with Catriona Lowe, from ACCC Scamwatch.

What to do if you have been scammed:
• Contact your bank or financial institution as soon as possible.
• Contact the platform on which you were scammed, and inform them of the circumstances surrounding the scam.
• Help others by reporting to www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam. Tell your friends and family, it helps to share your experience they can offer support and you can help protect them from scams.
