Double Eastern Screech-Owl release!
Twin release! These two Eastern Screech-Owl babies we admitted this spring were returned back near their original home once passing hunting school and reaching their full maturity. Eastern Screech-Owls are the most common owl found throughout Virginia, being able to exist in both fairly urban areas and natural areas as long as they have suitable nesting habitat. Just like bluebirds, these small owls roost and breed in both natural and man-made tree cavities. And just like bluebirds, you can build or buy owl boxes for them to attract them to your property!
