[Mobile] Helios 100% (Extreme Demon)
I’m back on mobile!
Ever since iOS bug happened I’ve been playing on PC, but I never really achieved what I wanted on there. Not only could I not beat any extremes on 60hz (damn you Broken Signal) but I didn’t manage to finish the big projects I attempted on 240fps. While I’m proud of the few impressive things I did do on the platform, at the end of the day I’m a mobile player at heart, so when iOS 16.1 allowed me to play the game again I was thrilled. I immediately picked up where I left off and tried to beat what I planned to be a first on mobile completion (although that opportunity was long gone), Helios.
However, if you got that update you most likely know that there were lots of terrible frame drops which made GD basically unplayable. I tried my damndest to pull through, but with the game being essentially luck based I couldn’t bring myself to keep playing and returned to steam. A few days ago, I tried out getting iOS 16.2 and to my surprise the game was just as playable as it used to be! It only took 4 days to return to this level and finish it, though my nerves were pretty bad since I haven’t tried to complete any levels in a while. I’d say Helios is pretty fun, however the gameplay has a few awkward moments and gameplay elements which feel like they’re hanging on for dear life to work (and sometimes just don’t). The balancing however is excellent, there are pretty much no chokepoints and it’s never boring to play.
My luck was kinda bad, as I died twice at 92, then once at 94 and a frustrating death at 87. I think it might take a bit for me to get used to getting far, but I’m looking forward to getting more mobile extremes under my belt. I don’t think I’ll be aiming for anything too difficult on the mobile list anymore - that reminds me, EXTEND THE MOBILE LIST!!
