GETTING STARTED
• Save the file PPT365_AI_1A_FirstLastName_1.pptx as PPT365_AI_1A_FirstLastName_2.pptx
o Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.
o If you do not see the .pptx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.
• To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:
o Support_PPT365_AI_1A_Budget.jpg
o Support_PPT365_AI_1A_Spending.jpg
• With the file PPT365_AI_1A_FirstLastName_2.pptx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.
o If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.
PROJECT STEPS
1. As an associate in the Employee Resources Department of Upton Financial Group, you are creating a presentation for new employees on keeping a personal budget. To help you develop the presentation text, you used ChatGPT, a generative artificial intelligence tool. Your prompt to ChatGPT requested a five-slide presentation that defines a budget and explains how to calculate net income, track expenses, and select a budgeting plan. While ChatGPT provided a good start, the presentation is missing content and pictures and needs other revisions to suit its purpose and audience. Start by adding content to the title slide as follows:
a. Insert Budget Basics as the presentation title.
b. Insert Guide to Financial Health as the presentation subtitle.
2. On Slide 2 ("What is a budget?"), edit the bulleted list as follows:
a. Change the second bulleted item to the following to simplify the text and address the audience directly:
A budget is a financial plan that helps you manage your money effectively.
b. Delete the word "different" from the fourth bullet to remove the repetition with "various".
3. Remaining on Slide 2, format the bulleted list as follows to distinguish the main topics from the subtopics:
a. Increase the indent of the second and fourth bullets by one level.
b. Change the font color to Teal, Accent 2 (6th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette) of the text in the first and third bullets.
4. Still on Slide 2, insert the picture Support_PPT365_AI_1A_Budget.jpg in the content placeholder on the right to illustrate the slide content.
5. On Slide 3 ("Calculate your net income"), insert the following text into the Notes pane to provide missing background information:
Calculate net income to set an accurate financial starting point.
6. Remaining on Slide 3, improve the slide design as follows to remove clutter and balance the slide elements:
a. Apply the Title and Content layout to the slide.
b. Change the bullets to numbers in the content placeholder.
c. Align the bottom of the rectangle with the bottom of the content placeholder.
d. Apply a 24-pt. font size to the text in the rectangle.
7. On Slide 4 ("Track your spending"), format the text in the text box ("Know where your money goes") as follows to distinguish the text from the bulleted list:
a. Apply italics to the text in the text box.
b. Change the fill color of the text box to Teal, Accent 2, Darker 25% (6th column, 5th row in the Theme Colors palette).
c. Change the font color of the text to White, Background 1 (1st column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette).
8. Remaining on Slide 4, change the word "Label" to Classify to use a more appropriate term.
9. Still on Slide 4, insert a picture as follows to provide visual interest and illustrate the slide content:
a. Insert the picture Support_PPT365_AI_1A_Spending.jpg to the right of the bulleted list.
b. Resize the picture to a height of 5", letting the width resize proportionally.
c. Move the picture to the right of the bulleted list.
d. Align the top of the picture with the top of the text box containing the text "Know where your money goes".
