Linda A Doll Watercolor Grisaille Demonstration
My watercolor demonstration for the IWS Bulgaria 2020 Exhibition. I am doing a demo of one of the techniques I often use called Grisaille. Daniel Smith Watercolors were used in this demo as well as Escoda Versatil Brushes and a Mejello Fusion Palette.
Grisaille painting (it's pronounced 'griz-EYE') is done when an artist uses a limited palette to create a painting's first layer, called the under-painting. Local color is then glazed on top of this pattern created to complete the painting. Must use "STAIN" pigments.
