Civilian Trauma Wound Dressing w/2nd Mobile Pad
Designed for treating entry and exit wounds, the 4-inch Civilian Entry/Exit Wound Dressing incorporates a number of innovative features for immediate hemorrhage control in the field and on the street. As with the entire Emergency Bandage series, the 4-inch Military Entry/Exit Wound Dressing includes the built-in, patented Pressure Applicator, which can apply over 30 pounds of pressure directly to a wound. The Closure Bar, which secures the Wrapping Leader in a simple, fast and familiar movement, can also be used to exert additional pressure over a wound site. Other unique features include the Stop & Go release, providing controlled application of the bandage without the risk of unravelling, and the Handle Loop, a fold at the end of the Wrapping Leader that maintains placement of the pad and aids proper positioning on the wound site. During self-application, the Handle Loop facilitates correct bandaging -- even one-handed. The bandage is double vacuum packed to ensure its integrity and sterility while tear notches opposite each other on the outer packaging enable easy opening.
In addition to the features that are standard in all of the Emergency Bandages, the Military Entry/Exit Wound Dressing is equipped with a second, mobile pad: one pad for the entry wound, one for the exit. This dressing is also useful in treating single-entry wounds. For deep wounds, the mobile pad can be used to pack the wound, expediting hemorrhage control. For large wounds, placing the mobile pad next to the built-in pad extends the pad surface to 8 by 4 inches, which is advantageous for large wound care.
The Moisture Seal is a non-adherent plastic sheet that seals in and maintains moisture and the trapped cooling effect on a wound that has been doused with water. In cases of exposed organs, the moisture prevents the formation of adhesions. Attached on the four corners of the pad, the Moisture Seal opens with the bandage pad to cover a 60 x 60 cm wound site. In cases that do not require the Moisture Seal, the sheet can easily be detached from the bandage, allowing the bandage to be used as needed.
