"The McLean brothers and their friend, Alex Hare, grew up hard and fast in the saddle working the ranches of the Thompson/Nicola Districts in central British Columbia around present day Kamloops. Economic times were hard in the 1870’s, and whenever stock was rustled or went missing, it was widely rumored that the McLean boys were the likely cause".
