This fix is not permanent, because the arm rubbers gets sticky (the unit was manufactured in 2000) and by heating the hard drive, arm locks with the rubber causing the odious click of death. You can try replacing these rubbers but it is a very complicated process and can cause unrecoverable death of the hard disk (Head Crash)
Proceed carefully
Steps:
Remove the 5 screws from the top
Lift the cover up with a bit of force carefully (You can use a flathead screwdriver, but carefully)
locate the arm magnets and with the finger carefully roll the arm from the root (where are magnets located)
And with the arm unlocked, proceeds to assemble the hard drive quickly before it starts to fall dust
Then connect the hard disk and backup your data. Good Luck!
Note: try to not touch anything, you must never touch the hard disk platter . It is recommended to use latex gloves
