In this animatic, an Australian Shepherd named Jack Goodeboy is working at an elementary school as an emotional support animal. He is the adoptive father of two joeys named Joe and Joanna. He carries a box with him in school one day that he says is for a “special someone”. Joe and Joanna’s curiosity gets the best of them!
This short was another one created for a University digital course as a way to show off what I learned! This was done step by step. First, there was a pre-production deck describing the basic story and characters, followed by a script, then a series of storyboards, and finally an animatic!
I did all of the voices here. I came up with these voices on the spot in one take for each character, so I am aware that it could have been better. I do want to someday get voice actors for my animated projects, and a composer as well.
Hope you enjoy this animatic! If you want to see this fully animated someday, let me know, and I’ll consider doing that in the future! I do want to use Jack and the Joeys more as well.
