Your average teenage boy gets stuck in a strange time loop, that makes everything feel like a dizzy dream.
While this is technically a sci-fi film, I see that in its heart it is a film about dissociative disorders. It shows how the human mind can sometimes feel, or even be, corrupted. My grandmother died of dementia, so I felt that while making this film, A part of her was in me. I barely knew her, and by the time we first met, she didn't know that the little baby boy in front of her was her grandson.
Looking back on videos, and listening to stories from before I was born, I can see that she was always confused. Getting angry at nothing, and at the same time, scared of everything.
I wanted to encompass those ideas in this short film, but I didn't fully know how. I masked it under the concept of a sci-fi time loop.
I think that while the concept of dissociative disorders is still quite hidden, I pulled back some of the layers covering it in this film.
