Pinnacles National Park is HOT! Especially during the Summer months. For some reason, we always find ourselves here during the hottest time of the year (not recommended at all). However, we have now hiked through both sides of the park.

Pinnacles National Park is an American national park protecting a mountainous area located east of the Salinas Valley in Central California, about five miles east of Soledad and 80 miles southeast of San Jose.

Some 23 million years ago multiple volcanoes erupted, flowed, and slid to form what would become Pinnacles National Park. What remains is a unique landscape. Travelers journey through chaparral, oak woodlands, and canyon bottoms. Hikers enter rare talus caves and emerge to towering rock spires.

After visiting the park, we made our way up to Gilroy to try Garlic Ice Cream.

Lastly, we try the famous giant birria tacos at Con Sabor a Mexico in San Jose.
