Sister Emmanuel Maillard's Conference on Medjugorje and the End Times
"We know that one of the last secrets of Medjugorje is quite a difficult one, even though it has been softened by the fasting and prayers of all those who have gone to Medjugorje and heeded it," Sister Emmanuel Maillard recounts. She also speaks to us about the kind of future the Virgin Mary speaks of and proposes.
On this matter, she explains that we must know that "the only certain future we have is holiness. Of course, holiness is not about performing miracles. Holiness consists of having the fullness of God's love in our hearts. Everything else will pass away: family, work, food, home—all of that will pass away," she explains.
"But the love we have in our hearts will be our passport to heaven, and the Virgin sees that our souls are asleep. We are as if we have been led astray by material possessions. The Virgin has told us: 'Do not forget, dear children, that the end of your life is heaven,' but Satan leads you astray with modernism. What is modernism? It is a mistaken way of thinking that makes us believe that only the Earth exists. Mary tells us: 'You are attached to the Earth and to earthly things.'"
Thus, as Sister Emmanuelle says, we tend to forget what our goal is, what our destiny is. "We all know that our ultimate destiny is heaven, we all know that, but are we truly on the path that leads us to heaven? It's not enough to simply know that our end is heaven. In reality, without realizing it, in our daily lives, we create other goals for ourselves.
And this other goal we create for ourselves is earthly well-being: having this, achieving that, succeeding at one thing, buying another, earning money. This becomes so important to us that it occupies our entire field of consciousness, and without realizing it, we disconnect from the verticality that is our salvation. And if my true goal in life is to live well here on Earth, I am preparing myself for immense despair on my last day.
When it all ends, I will find myself empty, naked, desperate because I will have missed the train that leads us to salvation. That is why the Virgin Mary came to awaken us in Medjugorje; we are living in a time of grave apostasy. As the Virgin Mary says, we have advanced civilization greatly, but without God, and the Virgin Mary says: Dear children, you have built your..." "Your own gods, that's why you're not satisfied, that's why you're not happy."
