Dear friends, subscribers or anyone who has ever been any part of my YouTube life.
I can't believe it's actually time for me to oficially say goodbye to YouTube. It's been such a big part of my life. I've had such luck to find this world and be apart of it in such a massive, important way. I would have never expected in my 6 (!!!) years of YouTube to gain 18.000 (?!) subscribers, make 185 (!) videos, have almost 8.5 MILLION views and most importantly, meet such amazing people and make so many incredible, incredible friends.
Before I start my official rant about how much YouTube and my dear friends have meant to me, I first want to thank everyone who participated in this last collab, it means the world to me that so many AMAZING vidders have come together to celebrate my last video. Especially thanks to Neish and Maria who were absolute heroes by filling in, I love you! Not to forget to mention Kar, who sadly enough couldn't be apart of this video but has meant the world to me on YouTube. Thank you all SO much, I will miss your creative masterminds.
Now, I remember when I was younger and saw the first-ever fanmade video on YouTube. It was Brooke & Lucas - Once Upon a Broken Heart, and I was like: what is this movie? Ha. ha. Silly me. (Little did I know that Brucas of that 'movie' would take over my life not shortly after). So I looked it up and started watching OTH. After that I think I've tried for at least 1 full year to get Sony Vegas and start editing, which didn't go without trouble, but I was so determined that I never gave up. And thank god I didn't.
I started editing and at first it was just figuring out the means of Sony Vegas. However, it developed into something so much more; a way to express myself and my creativity to the world. A way to make tributes to characters/people/couples I cared about, showing the world my perception. It wasn't until my Larry videos though, that I actually got noticed. I got a crazy fanbase by the Larry / 1D fandom and I felt so, so lucky. Slowly after that, my videos were picked up by other fandoms as well and people started noticing my work. I know how views shouldn't matter, but let's be honest: it does. It makes you feel appreciated for the work you've done. I got to know some AMAZING vidders, some whom I had admired for so long, think about EmmaQLife (who actually became one of my closest friends), xfoxyAmanda11, GlamourStar0x and lifexintechnicolour. All of these vidders that I had worshipped for years and actually wanted to talk to me and turned out great friends. If you're doubting whether or not you want to enter the vidder-world, I say DO IT. Talk to any vidder, they are all so so kind and open to everyone for questions or even just a silly little conversation about a ship.
I've met so many breathtakingly beautiful people, outside and inside, here on YouTube. And I can't thank any one of you enough for making this life on YouTube so much better.
I am so sad that I am going to leave such a beautiful community, but I will still be apart of collabs of SaturnxCollabs, birthday collabs and of course of the Dutch Vidders collabs, all of whom are incredibly talented and so kind.
Once again, thank you for everything YouTube. You changed my life for the better.
THANK YOU.
I LOVE YOU.
Yours always,
Ilse
