Hyundai Motor India made its market debut on October 22, 2024, after raising ₹27,870 crores in the country's largest IPO of the year. However, despite being oversubscribed 2.37 times, the stock opened at ₹1,934 per share, slightly below the upper IPO price band of ₹1,960. This 1.3% drop in value is attributed to concerns about high pricing and weak retail investor participation. The initial loss mirrors trends seen in other large IPOs where retail investors shy away due to pricing issues.
