Glenvale Farms at Kewell, centred between Horsham and Warracknabeal purchased from Emmetts Warracknabeal these two new 2014 build S670 harvesters with 26” tracks setup on 3.048m centres or 120” coupled to two x John Deere 630D draper fronts. Glenvale Farms have all John Deere equipment setup for controlled traffic farming (CTF) on 30’ multiples, which includes a 4940 self propelled sprayer, two x 8R MFWD tractors and two John Deere precision planters and a Grizzly Disc seeder all coupled to John Deere 340bu TBH 1910 air carts which are also liquid fertiliser capable. The John Deere track harvesters have proved to be highly successful and will reduce further the compaction on the CTF tramlines which are utilised throughout the year for all cropping operations. The CTF tracks are renovated only as required with a Grizzly Wheel Track Renovator during the off season. The 630D draper fronts have also proved highly successful in a wide range of crops, utilising Header Height Sensing in most situations. Thanks to The Ruwoldt Family for allowing us to film their impressive harvesting operation last week.
