BS-0 dividing head to stepper motor conversion - 17-22 Sept 2024
This is my version of modifying a BS-0 semi universal dividing head and replacing the hand winding shaft with a Nema 23 stepper motor connected to a stand alone division controller. Although in a traditional workshop the dividing plates are used, to speed up the gear cutting process in upcoming wheel & pinion cutting, it makes sense to use a stepper motor to control rotation of chuck or collet, especially with wheels with large wheel count.
This video is in sped up mode, but I may upload shorter relevant segments later at normal speed ...
