D&D Beyond has a few tools they've created for Dungeon Masters to run their games. But are they useful, or should you find something else?
I walk through my own observations and thoughts about the three tools they offer: Campaigns, Encounters, and Maps. I share what I like about them and what makes it problematic for me to run my games with them. I also share my thoughts on the new 3D VTT that D&D Direct is coming out with as well as the tools I plan to use.
DISCLAIMER: I make it clear that I am new to being a Dungeon Master at the time of this video, so I welcome any helpful tips and resources you could provide regarding these tools.
UPDATE (after the video was uploaded but before it was published): It is possible to switch between making a roll public to everyone and to yourself in Encounters. When you click on a stat block die roll, you have to right-click on it to get more options on the kind of roll you wish to use.
