Oscen's first debut song, "As You Are," is a collaboration with DJ/Producer Eztioko.
STORY:
As a core leader at King's Table, (An event at Newsong Church in Santa Ana, California), Oscen felt inspired by the people experiencing homelessness. The core message of King's Table is "come as you are," which is inspired by their authenticity. During a spontaneous trip to New York, Eztioko and Oscen completed the song within a week but the song was put on hold for a year. Though their friendship was shaken and the song was almost scrapped, the message in "As You Are" was powerful enough to remind them of forgiveness and grace, as well as their shared love for Jesus Christ. They hope that this song, too, is a reminder that we are called to love our neighbors (as well as ourselves) because He first loved us! Despite all our flaws, the Lord wants our imperfect hearts, and to have a relationship with us. He holds no grudges and keeps no accounts of our wrongdoings; who are we to be unforgiving and bear grudges against our brothers and sisters? During this time of coronavirus, Oscen hopes that this song will bring light and love to those who feel directionless, purposeless, or even shameful/hateful towards their identity. You are loved, you are imperfectly perfect. Come to Him, As You Are.
