China TDS and TC Water Quality Tester Review. In the test, running water, water filtered with a regular flow filter and bottled office water were tested.
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is a measure of the total amount of minerals, salts, metals and other substances that are dissolved in water. The unit of measurement is ppm (parts per million). The higher the TDS, the more dissolved substances are in the water, which can indicate its pollution or a high concentration of minerals.
EC (Electrical Conductivity) is the ability of water to conduct electricity, which directly depends on the number of ions in the water. The unit of measurement is microsiemens per centimeter (μS/cm). The more dissolved salts or ions in water, the higher the electrical conductivity.
Both of these indicators help to evaluate water purity: the lower the values, the cleaner the water.
