The Yew and Boxwood Grove is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Khosta District of Sochi. The most astonishing thing about this grove is that the plants have been growing here unchanged for, according to scientists, about 30 million years. In other words, 30 million years ago, this forest looked exactly as it does now. Well, except people didn't walk through it back then—there were no humans on Earth then, and the age of dinosaurs had passed. But we can stroll through it, as this part of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, where the grove is located, is open to tourists. Amazing yews several thousand years old, moss hanging from the branches, and rare endemic plants—all this awaits you in the Yew and Boxwood Grove in Khosta. I walked the entire route along the Small and Large Rings of the grove, reached the ruins of the Khostinskaya Fortress and the Devil's Gate Canyon, and I'm showing you all this beauty.
