There - I completed the tasks.
Well - it is at a stage where I can stop
If you want to purchase a board / components let me know.
I can build a fully populated PCB BUT I suspect you are better at soldering than me.
So I can control up to 11 momentary switches. In this case you would need to solder a cable onto the Zoom (or any other compatible momentary switch).
I can control 4 endless encoders in both directions.
Up to 8 Bluetooth HID keys.
Likely improvements:
1 - add external labels -a must else I will forget what does what!
2 - explore actioning the encoders as soon as pressed, allowing an acceleration for continued press.
3 - maybe a magnifier for the screen
4 - USB host - the looper, rhythm, settings and mem/stomp cannot be controlled via MIDI but most of the rest of the device can.
I got a later ESP32 with OTG support BUT the pins are not same as this device.
5 - I will likely use on of my boards on my Akai Miniak to control the
Programs/Rythyms/Sequencers/Multi/Data Entry OK, Config (via buttons)
and DataEntry via encoder (I would also operate the X, Y, Z)
6 - Explore extension to other Zoom pedals. B1On, MS CDR70 etc
This would allow me to program a series of operations to the synth so I could explore and reverse engineer the multi format. Something I have been meaning to do since 2011!
So would require more software.
