Here are some games that didn't make the list and why:
Nioh - I put about 5 hours into it. Although I have nothing but respect for it, it unfortunately wasn't for me. I see why people love it though! The art direction is amazing.
Splatoon 2 - I beat the campaign and played a decent amount of multiplayer. I had some fun with it, but to me it felt more like Splatoon 1.5 instead of a true sequel, and I wasn't even a massive fan of the first game.
Injustice 2 + Tekken 7 - MAN do I have respect for these 2 fighting games. Injustice 2 is gorgeous and fun and tekken is clearly a blast ...too bad fighting games aren't my cup of tea.
Forza Motorsport 7 - I put 15 hours into this game and as a massive fan of the series I have to admit... I was VERY disappointed with the changes that were made. Rewards systems for playing on higher difficulties were scrapped for loot boxes that suck... no thanks guys.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Not interested in 100 hour grindfests.
Gravity Rush 2 - I loved the first game on Vita. Something about the jump to PS4 didn't do it for me.
Evil Within 2, Shadow of war, destiny 2, farpoint and South Park were all games I decided not to buy day 1 or just weren't interested in.
2017 has been one of my all time favorite years for gaming. Some of the most innovative and interesting games were released this year and this is my personal list ranked from 20-1 of my favorites that I experienced. Enjoy!
