Ms Judy Wee is the Vice-President of the Disabled People's Association Singapore and Senior Manager at the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore. She has been actively involved in making Singapore a barrier-free city state since the early 1990s and was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2004 for her work in the community.
Judy advocates for the need for a safe and inclusive environment to promote the participation of people with disabilities in mainstream society. She was instrumental in the publication of the Code on Barrier-Free Accessibility in Buildings (renamed in 2007 as the Code on Accessibility in the Built Environment), and is a resource person with the United Nations Economic & Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
Judy has also trained persons with disabilities, architects and government officials to be trainers for the promotion of non-handicapping environments.
