Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask DLC Review & Thoughts

I finally got to completing the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC and wanted to share my thoughts in a pseudo-review format. Overall I think the DLC did what part 1 was designed to do- give us something to chew on while we prepare for everything in part 2. I think that expecting this to hold up on it's own as an expansions is choosing to be let down a little bit. I obviously have my issues as we all do, but I had a good time playing through it and getting to see familiar Pokémon.
Visually, I think the smaller scale let Gamefreak mae a more detailed and lively environment, but that probably came at the cost of the even worse performance.
The Story was not too bad. It feels more like a let-down coming from what I thought was a really great story at the end of the Scarlet and Violet main games. I again, want to bag on it for it's depressing vibe and lackluster high points but it is really meant to set the stage and lay the groundwork for what's to come. Letting us actually watch Kieren's descent can pay off much bigger if some time has passed to allow him to actually develop whatever arc he's setting off on now.
The gameplay made an attempt to be balanced by introducing level scaling but it took me way too long to create a team composition that felt natural and not too hard OR easy.
