I thought the 3rd generation would be easy to get into because it doesn't have elements like Sheer Cold Suicune or Speed Boost Blaziken, which are currently unobtainable and create player disparities, but it seems there are other aspects that make it difficult.

Usable Pokémon: Pokémon that appear in Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Pokémon Box, Colosseum, and XD
Banned Pokémon: Mewtwo, Mew, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Celebi, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys
Battle Format: 6v3 (Team Preview)
Banned Tiers: Some are banned
Held Items: Allowed
(Item duplication is prohibited. Soul Dew and Mystery Berry are prohibited. Other items that cannot be obtained through normal gameplay are prohibited.)
Level: Lv2-50
Multiple Hypnosis: Prohibited
Shadow Tag: Cannot be selected if both players have it in their party
