In April more than 450 NHS professionals joined an online information session, to learn more about the National Autism Trainer Programme.
At this session Tim Devanney and Andrew Carpenter from NHS England Learning Disability and Autism Programmes, discussed the need for this training, and how it aims to enhance autistic people’s experience of care. Guests also heard moving stories from autistic content developers about their personal experiences of care, and NHS professionals who have benefitted from the pilot training. The programme leads also gave presentations and took part in a Q&A panel.
