"Everything started well, you know? It seemed like a good job to me, so I signed on the dotted line. Seemed like a smart move too, bankable as they come. People are always fighting, right? The money was ok, Lizzy and I managed like everyone else did.
Within a couple of years We were married, pregnant with our first and all appeared to be going well.
I got the call one day. Second Lieutenant William Gibbs reporting in I said with ignorance and pride. Within three months I was front-line fighting the bloody Arabs.
The horror and brutality of it all... unspeakable horrors. I wanted to leave... how desperately I wanted to escape that hell, but fate had a different plan for me.
I heard the thudd. Then a loud pang. Felt my cabin wobble from the impact and then all I could feel was sand. I knew it was the end.
