Mashup of two of my favourite bands.
Dear Prudence was written by John Lennon on the Beatles trip to Rishikesh to study Transcendental Meditation in 1968.
One of the Vines earliest incarnations involved the name Rishikesh, which was dropped due to the music press getting the spelling wrong.
Prudence Farrow, sister of Mia, had retreated to her room and could not be coaxed out, finding solace by meditating on her own. Lennon wrote this song about this experience.
The Vines put out the long awaited Ride as a follow up to their single F.T.W. with a cute insertion of the previous single's title which was censored for the radio version.
