Bon Iver 'Michicant' Music Video
Music video for the song 'Michicant' by Bon Iver, created as part of the final assignment of the year, this video incorporates a number of storytelling elements utilising ambiguity and symbolism to tell a story with a wider meaning but open to interpretation
This project was the most intensely planned of all my projects from the year. I went through 3 different plan iterations, each of them falling through. I finally settled on creating this music video as my assignment, incorporating a number of aspect from previous plans
The video tells a story of trying to become better and seeking meaning, trying to move on and forget the past but ultimately becoming broken by it
One night of filming was done for the majority of shooting, however 2 reshoots were done for the final scenes
Filmed on my Panasonic G85 DSLM using a Lumix 12-60mm ƒ3.5-5.6 lens for the most of filming, with a Lumix 25mm ƒ1.7 lens for reshoots in low-light
Edited using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
A huge part of this assignment was for planning, I did an extensive presentation for the video where I went into great detail about the symbolism and meaning behind the video, far too long to post all in here but more than happy to discuss in the comments or my discord server (https://discord.me/mcpeachpies)
