Studio Pro Charge Short
This is a quick video tutorial to show you how to replace the charging port on your Beats Studio Pro headphones. If the lights don't turn on when you plug your headphones in to charge, it means the charge port is faulty and needs to be replaced.
First, remove the ear pad with a pry tool or butter knife then, remove the 5 screws that hold the speaker housing in place and the additional 2 screws that hold the charge port in place. The speaker housing should easily lift out of the headphones now. You can then take a photo of the wires on the speaker and charge port then desolder them and remove the microphone.
Heat the charge port with your soldering iron while lifting it up with a flat head screwdriver or pry tool. Once it's removed clean the glue from underneath where the charge port was. Put a small drip of glue down then slide your new charge port in place. Solder the wires back to the port and the speaker then reinstall the microphone. You can then carefully fold the wires over the speaker housing then place the housing onto the headphones. Check to make sure there are no gaps around the edge before you install the screws then install all 7 screws. The earpad might need new double-sided tape but it can usually be reused so stick it in place and make sure the headphones are charging.
