A Charming Defense is a Chicago based Synthpop producer that alternates between darker and dreamlike. A Charming Defense tries to connect direct, hook driven songwriting with a love of music that spans multiple disparate influences (from 80s German Synthpop and French Coldwave to 2000s DIY MySpace bedroom pop) in an effort to create something unique that sonically honors the emotions behind the songs, despite familiar themes of loss and purposefully repetitive beats.
