Our Featured Artist Nicola Benedetti plays music close to her heart with Bruch's Scottish Fantasy. In this interview, Benedetti describes the romanticised Fantasy with its brooding beauty and raucous nature, whilst looking forward to playing the piece in March, a welcome homecoming since her early recordings.
The programme also features Beethoven's unparalleled Symphony No. 5, and French composer Louise Farrenc's dramatic Overture No. 1, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado.
Watch live at the Bedford Corn Exchange, Saffron Hall, and Royal Festival Hall on 12, 13, 14 March.
